Sistem pendidikan di setiap peringkat yang bermula daripada peringkat sekolah rendah sehingga ke peringkat pengajian tinggi memainkan peranan yang sangat penting bagi menjamin masa depan negara untuk mendapatkan modal insan yang berkualiti seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi masa kini. Pelbagai falsafah dan dasar pendidikan telah dijadikan pegangan bagi membolehkan para pendidik menerajui bidang akademik dengan lebih sempurna. Namun demikian, masih lagi kedengaran isu yang sering diperkatakan mengenai kualiti graduan yang rendah dan tidak mendapat peluang pekerjaan mengikut bidang yang diambil semasa melanjutkan pelajaran di institusi pengajian tinggi (IPT). Pemilihan strategi pengajaran yang tertentu dapat membantu dalam menyempurnakan modal insan. Salah satunya adalah konsep Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek yang merupakan pembelajaran bersifat autentik dengan memberi pendedahan kepada dunia sebenar kepada pelajar. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenalpasti pemahaman pensyarah di institusi pengajian tinggi terhadap Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek dalam bidang pengajian seni digital. Metod kajian adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan instrumen temu bual separa struktur untuk memperolehi data. Informan kajian adalah terdiri daripada 5 orang pensyarah dari IPT yang menjadi tenaga pengajar dalam bidang seni grafik, multimedia dan animasi. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pemahaman pensyarah terhadap strategi Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek adalah merujuk kepada tugasan berorientasikan produk, asas kemahiran, berpusatkan pelajar dan pembelajaran autentik. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan konsep Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek mempunyai hubungan yang rapat dengan kemahiran abad ke 21.
